AMB has specialised in vacuum metallisation since 1973, primarily within plastics. We use a technique whereby the plastic is coated with a thin layer of aluminium, or another metal, making possible a variety of different effects. This method is used both for decorative, reflective and shielding purposes.
When the thickness is under 100 nm, a reflective, decorative surface is produced. EMC shielding is carried out on layer thicknesses up to 5 µm.
By combining the reflective aluminium layer with different types of lacquer, striking metallic shades can be achieved. Silver, gold, and chrome are aming the most popular effects requested by our customers.
